The Wiz

I don't watch the Washington Wizards too often. So, I didn't know that much about them.

Well, I feel like I know a lot more now. They suck. They're a hot mess. There's exactly one player on that team that I would want. And, it's not Turiaf.

John Wall needs to be on the US Olympic team, so that I can see what he looks like with other real players. I said a couple weeks ago that he wasn't figuring out the league as quickly as I thought he would, but really he looks like he gets it and just doesn't have a supporting cast. He will not actually be on the Olympic team, so how does WAS get him some players?

I do not have a good answer to that question, so I obviously have a lot to learn about the cap, the way free agency works, trades, and other minutiae before applying for GM jobs.

Nick Young can create his own shot, which is a valuable skill in the NBA. I don't know if he was just feeling it last night, or he's always this way, but he relied on that skill a little much last night.

Someone tweeted during the game that Blatche was giving the Mavs trouble, as always. He's not a player that gives most team trouble, so that's concerning. If I was in WAS, I would want him starting over McGee.

Speaking of McGee, he sure is athletic. That's the first thing you always hear about him, but it's also about the only thing there is to say about him. I did learn last night that he went to UNR, which I guess I had forgotten.

Trevor Booker made waves at Clemson a couple years ago and Singleton was a sick defensive player at FSU last year, and both started last night. Yet, the WAS defense was awful. I'd love to see this same team play for Thibs or Carlisle to see how they look.

Jan Vesely is best known for mugging with his tall girl after being picked in the draft last year. Last night, he looked lost. Seriously. Like, continually looking around to see if he could figure out what he should be doing and/or if anyone was noticiing he had no idea.

Jordan Crawford looked pretty good at times.

Ok, so Blatche is good, Crawford is good, Young is good, and Wall is great. I don't know. Maybe they'll spend this offseason figuring it out. I think, however, that they've got to get a real dude. I don't see that happening. We'll see.
